Started using text (key facts and information about pineapples) within the shape of the pineapple image.
Rough outline using oil pastels outlined by a refined black drawing. The texture of the oil pastel works quite well and reflects the rough texture of a pineapple.
I really like the rough texture and expressive nature of this illustration. The differences between tones works really well and its a good background layer, for a more refined line on top.
I will start playing around with textures for the pineapple, using paint and crayon as a form of technique and process and then start to develop a character.
