I printed out a black and white print out of Maya and concealed her identity by using bright colours to accentuate her prominent outfits that she so often wore. I cut out her face and wanted to show the struggle and dismay she was feeling inside her body. Maya always appeared like a positive, optimistic character on the exterior - but on the interior this was not the case so I used the idea of being trapped in a cage inside her own body (the body used as a metaphor for the cage). The music notes represent her positive energy but the dark black and white bars reflect her trauma as a child.
This could be quite interesting if the colourful outfit was created digitally so it becomes more striking. I like how the identity has been concealed to a certain extent but feel i could go further than this and use something more subtle to represent her.
