Maya Angelou was such a positive spirit despite her traumatic upbringing and difficult life. Much of her poems reflect her positive attitude towards life and constant optimistic intentions. this is something I really want to convey in my work - yes she went through a bad childhood, probably was a pivotal part of her life and definitely made her into the person she was, but I want to create something which celebrates her life and doesn't reflect her dismay and upset.
